Bob Wells
Bob Wells experienced a profound dark night of the soul at the age of 40, reaching his lowest point where life felt hopeless and meaningless. In search of hope, he discovered a spiritual path that transformed his life beyond anything he could have imagined. In the past 30 years he has dedicated himself to sharing that hope with others.
Bob found renewed purpose through living nomadically, which became a source of healing and freedom. Moved by deep compassion for those who were suffering and could benefit from the nomadic lifestyle, he founded the CheapRVliving website in 2005. When the global recession hit in 2008, his website became a beacon of hope for countless people who had lost their jobs and their homes. This website offered guidance and practice solutions. As a result, it rapidly grew, reaching a vast audience.
In 2011, driven by a desire to foster community among nomads, Bob created the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous (RTR), an annual gathering in the Arizona desert that has since become a cornerstone for the nomadic community. In 2019 there were over 10,000 nomads attending that event.
Continuing his mission, Bob launched the CheapRVliving YouTube channel in 2016 which has helped millions of people embrace the nomadic lifestyle. This channel has over 215 million lifetime views, 835,000 subscribers, and grows by thousands every week.
Bob’s work has garnered widespread recognition with numerous interviews across various platforms. In 2021, Bob played a pivotal role in the Oscar winning film Nomadland, further amplifying the impact of his nomadic message. At the heart of Bob’s work is his unwavering empathy and compassion for those who suffer. His life mission has been to offer hope, community, and practical wisdom to people seeking freedom and a new way of living.
